Settlement Grants Program
The Settlement Grants Program provides individual client consultations, group information sessions and workshops to Humanitarian or Refugee visa entrants who have been in Australia less than 5 years.
The Program is funded by the Department of Social Services to provide Orientation to Australia Services for eligible female clients in the North Metropolitan Area, and provides settlement advice, information, advocacy, referral and capacity building.
Clients can access this service if they have questions or problems relating to:
- Immigration and settlement,
- family relationships,
- legal implications,
- employment and training,
- accommodation and housing
- financial advice.
Clients are shown how to access appropriate services and then how to do it independently for the future.
The information sessions that are held provide information on changes that may affect SGP clients or information that is beneficial in helping them settle successfully.
The SGP worker is available for appointments.
Interpreters will be arranged on request.
Free créche facilities are available at information sessions.
Please call Marina Suleski or Reception at Ishar on 9345 5335 to make an appointment.
