Settlement Grants Program
Settlement Grants Program provides orientation to Australia services for women and their families who have been in Australia for less than 5 years.
The project aims to assist clients to gain access to mainstream services such as accommodation, education, training and employment. The service provides casework, referrals, advocacy and information sessions. Information sessions and workshops will ensure clients have a greater understanding of a variety of issues including family relationships, domestic / family violence and women’s health.
Women Searching for a New Beginning
Funded by WA Department of Education and Training under the Equity, Development and Innovation Program.
This project is run in partnership with Mercy Community Services (formerly Mercy Employment Services) and offers assistance to women from migrant, refugee and humanitarian backgrounds to develop and adapt their job search skills to the Australian context. Workshop sessions include information on resume writing, job search and interview techniques and addressing selection criteria, among other relevant topics. In addition, the project provides individual assistance by the Project Coordinator and Mercy Employment Service. Crèche facilities are available for women with young children.
