Women Under Blue Skies tells the story of migrant women. Understanding and respecting migrant women. Ishar Multicultural Women learning English.

The aim of the “Past, Present, and Future” was for migrant women to reflect on and feel proud of their past accomplishments while encouraging them to look forward to future experiences and opportunities. The participating women shared their stories and learned to communicate them in written and verbal English. The book "Women Under Blue Skies” was the final product of the year-long project. It was launched in 2014 by the Hon Liz Behjat MLC. The book contains stories of migration and settlement from women of Middle Eastern, Asian, African and European origin, as told by the women themselves. The project helped the women learn to speak and write in English and gave them a sense of achievement and pride in their accomplishments. Many of the women went on to further their education and English language ability. “Women Under Blue Skies” celebrates both our differences and our similarities, and tells the stories of many inspiring women and the challenges they've faced in the hopes of increasing understanding and respect of migrant women and their experiences.
