Health Promotion Coordinator

About the role

Ishar is seeking a full-time Health Promotion Coordinator with experience in working with women from a migrant background. The position will be shared between our Cannington and Mirrabooka offices, with a fixed-term contract until 30th June 2027.

Role Statement

The Health Promotion Coordinator will coordinate and lead health promotion projects, including those specified under grant agreements, in a cultural appropriate manner. 


Selection Criteria
Essential (please address these in your application)

  • Tertiary education in a relevant field, such as health promotion or allied health, or public health.

  • Demonstrated organisational, forward-planning and time management skills, with excellent attention to detail and initiative and able to work to deadlines.

  • Demonstrated experience planning, delivering and evaluating community-based health promotional programs.

  • Ability to effectively lead and manage a small team that fosters a positive workplace culture.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills in cross-cultural environments with a professional approach.

  • Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative, sensitivity and discretion.

  • Demonstrated computer literacy skills, including competency in the use of MS Office, with the aptitude to learn new software and systems.

  • Genuine passion for women’s health and wellbeing, and alignment with organisational values.

  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team environment.

    • Experience working and understanding of the not-for-profit community sector.

    • Experience working with refugee and migrant populations in a community-based organisation.

    • Fluency in a second language, other than English.

    • Experience working with interpreters.

    • Full unrestricted working rights in Australia.

    • Current WA police clearance dated within the last 12 months (or the ability to obtain one upon commencement)

    • A current Driver’s Licence and own road-worthy insured vehicle.

    • Current WA Working with Children’s Check (or the ability to obtain one upon commencement). Our organisation is committed to protecting children and young people from harm. We require all applicants to undergo an extensive screening process prior to appointment.
