Building Bridges, Breaking Barriers: Support Socially Isolated Women
Ishar is committed to breaking the cycle of social isolation experienced by migrant and refugee women. For women aged 40 and older, settling into a new country can be daunting. Language barriers, cultural dislocation, and limited social networks often lead to loneliness, vulnerability, and disconnection, impacting not just individuals, but families and communities.
Be the reason someone feels seen, supported, and connected.

The WOMN Project: Creating Connection and Belonging
Ishar’s Women of Many Nations (WOMN) program provides safe, welcoming spaces where women connect, grow, and thrive. Through weekly community sessions, participants engage in:
Social activities that foster friendship and belonging
Health and wellbeing programs tailored to diverse needs
Culturally responsive information on healthcare, finances, and community services
Peer-led support that builds confidence and resilience
Why We Need Your Support
Demand for the WOMN project has surged. More women are seeking connection, support, and culturally responsive care, but Ishar’s current resources cannot meet the growing need. Without additional funding, many will remain isolated and unsupported.
We aim to raise $200,000 to continue and expand the WOMN program. Your donation will help us:
Provide refreshments and afternoon tea to create a welcoming environment
Deliver inclusive health and wellness activities like yoga and walking groups
Offer accessible education on healthcare, financial literacy, and community resources
Build sustainable peer mentorship pathways that foster long-term empowerment
Every Dollar Makes a Difference
$25 funds afternoon tea for 10 women experiencing isolation
$55 provides refreshments for a WOMN group session
$130 supports a health and wellness activity
$300 funds professionally led workshops, such as art therapy and sustainable living
$500 hires a bus for 55 women to enjoy a day out, fostering joy, connection, and relaxation
