Ishar is seeking a full-time Grants and Fundraising Officer on a one-year fixed–term contract, with the possibility of extension until 2028.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated, passionate Grants and Fundraising Officer with relevant experience to join the team.
Role Statement
The Grants and Fundraising Officer is responsible for securing financial support from foundations, corporations, government agencies, and individual donors to sustain and expand organisation’s programs. This role involves identifying funding opportunities, preparing compelling grant proposals, managing donor relationships, and supporting the organisation’s overall fundraising strategy.
Selection Criteria
Essential (please address these in your application)
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or English. 
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in grant writing, fundraising, or resource mobilisation. 
- Proven record of successful grant applications and donor engagement. 
- Ability to build sustainable networks and collaborative working relationships with diverse stakeholders that promotes pathways to grants and funding opportunities. 
- Proven ability to think innovatively, effect change, and promote a positive workplace culture. 
- Ability to conduct research and analysis and use the information to prepare written reports and sponsor/funding applications with strict confidentiality. 
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills in cross-cultural environments with a professional approach. 
- Demonstrated organisational and time management skills, with excellent attention to detail and initiative, able to work under pressure. 
- Demonstrated computer literacy skills, including competency in the use of MS Office, with the aptitude to learn new software and systems. 
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team environment. 
- Current WA police clearance dated within the last 12 months. 
- Current driver’s license, willing and able to use own roadworthy and insured vehicle for work purposes. 
- Current Working with Children Check.

      - Experience working and understanding of the not-for-profit community sector. 
- Experience working with refugee and migrant populations in a community-based organisation. 
- Fluency in a second language, other than English.

      - Full unrestricted working rights in Australia. 
- Current WA police clearance dated within the last 12 months. 
- A current Driver's Licence and own a road-worthy, insured vehicle.
